A Tribute to Betty Robinson

March 4th, 2009

We want to share the work of Betty Robinson, who so sadly passed away last December.  She was from Greer, South Carolina and resided in Georgetown.

“Miss Betty” attended Adrian’s childhood church in Indiantown, SC and had close ties with her family.  Each year, she would hand paint an Easter egg for Adrian’s grandfather, as her husband, Dick, dubbed him “The Good Egg.”  Even after Adrian’s grandfather’s passing, Betty and Dick continued this Easter tradition with “Bib”, Adrian’s grandmother, who treasures these endearing displays of her talent.

Betty painted in Georgetown for well over a decade. Carolina Arts notes her “marshes, shores and light of  Lowcountry settings are reflected in her virtuoso layered works in water color and color pencil.” She was an Artist in Excellence of the South Carolina Watercolor Society and was a past president and lifetime honorary member of the Tennessee Watercolor Society.  Her works are showcased in numerous institutional and corporate collections.
