May Product Pick : Remarkable repurposing

May 14th, 2009

While visiting Anna Murray, a friend of our’s and owner of Surround, a chic lower King St. boutique full of vintage and repurposed finds, during a warehouse sale, we stumbled across this fantastic dining table [or island].

Originally a painting by a French artist out of resin-coated plaster, Anna added legs to recreate this into a dining table [or kitchen island when placing legs atop 5" blocks for counter-height].  Fancy that! What a unique piece full of character that makes the most of the original painting through repurposing it to be like new purchase. Very timeless.

Deciding to take a break from the retail sector to spend more time with her two adorable children, Anna has closed her retail boutique and is currently having a warehouse sale to move her existing inventory. Trust us, it’s a trip worth making to check out her uber interesting finds and you better hurry, because these pieces won’t be there for long.
