Starting December 10th, Eye Level Art will be hosting its first Spring St. Pop Up Shop at Gallery 103.

Pop Up Shop will be open through December 30th, 7 days a week from noon-7pm [until 11pm on Saturdays].

An Annual Yuletide Tradition

‘Tis the season, and what better way to celebrate it than bidding on designer wreaths amongst good company and festive bubbles and bites at Charleston Place’s annual Festival of Wreaths event benefitting our very own MUSC Children’s Hospital? I don’t know about you, but we think $10-15 for an event at Charleston Place is an absolute steal. Plus, with all proceeds from the evening going to MUSC, it’s a no-brainer. So, mark your calendar for this welcomed yuletide fete.

New Artist in Town

Tuesday night, we had the pleasure of meeting artist Betty Thalheimer at her exhibit seen FACES IN TIME at Oak. Immediately, we were taken with her hospitality and warm welcome…she’s fitting right in already despite having moved less than 2 weeks ago from her New York home. In the midst of settling into her new home and arranging this exhibit in record timing, she was a truly delightful hostess atune to all guests and admirers of her work.

And…you can add us to her growing list of admirers. Introduced to the artist through a recent CHARLIE feature [a must read on the artist by the way], we were immediately drawn to her use of color. Inspired by her vast travels abroad and her love of people-watching [predominately females], she creates engaging works of art that are true conversation starters.

Lowcountry Pink for the Cure

It’s that time of year again…time to paint the lowcountry pink! Playing off of the “blueprints” theme, our trusted intern Molly and talented CofC studio art major Brooke [and coincidentally my little sister] did a fantastic job creating our window look and translating it from paper to glass. Take a peek, and kudos to all the lowcountry businesses participating in Lowcountry Pink for the Cure…such a worthy cause.

Marvelous Margo

Well, what can we say…Margo knows how to throw a party. So, this Wednesday’s Contemporary Women Exhibit was par for the course. Featuring female works from McLean Shepard, Sally King Benedict [see previous post on her spectacular paintings], Helen Rice [who we're so happy to say did the illustrations on our website] , Kaminer Haislip, Zelda Grant, Sharon Lacey and Maria Costa — this showing was a must see.

Being surrounded by interesting artwork, dazzling party-goers, delicious bites and bubbles-a-flowing is definitely an enticing way to end the day.

Even better: Margo donated a percentage of proceeds to the Center for Women’s job counseling program. Kudos!

Palmetto Tile Showroom Opening

Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of attending Palmetto Tile’s new showroom opening. We were impressed with their tile selection and new inventory recently introduced through various tile lines. Pee Dee Panache Event pics

Last Thursday, we hosted an art and design event in Lake City, SC. Keeping to our PeeDee roots, we asked Karen Hagan, an artist we admire and fellow Pee Dee native to display her beautiful original oils at Lake City’s premiere gift boutique, The Pink Fish. Here’s some event pictures for your perusal. Thanks to those of you who joined us!

With over 50 guests throughout the evening, we had a magnificent turnout, mingled with old friends and met many new ones and managed to sell some beautiful artwork, gifts and decor. Stay tuned for future events this fall.

Pee Dee Panache

As most of you know, Adrian and I both grew up in the Pee Dee area of South Carolina. With our families still living there and being a short drive from Charleston, we visit regularly and maintain a welcomed client base there also. It’s a great excuse to get back to visit the fam!

We’re extremely excited about the revitalization of downtown Lake City and the Bean Market there. In hopes of continuing the efforts of bringing new events and cultural opportunities downtown, we’re co-hosting an upcoming event with Lake City’s premiere gift boutique, The Pink Fish.

Pee Dee Panache celebrates art and design with original oils from Karen Hagan, a dear friend of our’s also originally from the Pee Dee [Florence to be exact], complemented by an assortment of select fine fabrics and wallpapers from yours truly.

Last week we finally finished the invitations. In full Pee Dee spirit, we wrapped the invitations in corn husks and sealed them in place with strips of wallpaper. Take a peek!

Our favorite version with wallpaper matching our office ottoman and pillow fabric [Schumacher Chiang Mai Dragon].

10 Storehouse Row Stroll

Wednesday we, along with three other studios in 10SHR, opened our doors for a 10SHR Stroll during the Navy Yard’s last Midday Cafe. Here’s a few snaps of the studio prior to the stroll. Keep posted for future events and happenings at 10!

Last but not least, Kelly Wearstler’s Bengal Bazaar inspired compilation. Love her signature gray and mustard contrast…matches the colors on her website.
